Actually, from those in the know, Firestone doesn't charge any royalties. They only ask to review what you're making before approving it. They're also very good with helping you design the tire for the model from what I've been told.

So why don't we see "Firestone" tires in more kits? I think they'd be preferable to the "no name" tires that are in so many kits these days.

I wish I knew. Unless there has been a misunderstanding communicated to me, or there was some type of a policy change.

A little more investigation is in order. I'm rather surprised about the new Goodyear tires- they, by far, again, from what I have been told, are nearly impossible to deal with and very, very expensive to get licensing from. I suppose they have to keep the blimps inflated...

Hmmm, Steven's also lists a "Parts Pack #006" as TBA, too:

Wonder why they skipped #002, the parts pack numbers just skip it.

#002 is the Firestone Deluxe Champion Whitewall tire parts pack...

I only paid 13.59$ at my LHS for the #002, not really sure why they were so much cheaper than what you guy's are seeing. I saw the #003 Slick's last time and have yet to pick them up.  Never can have to many nice tire's and wheel's.

i think i just paid 9.99 at tower hobbies for the #2 set.

i started looking at the back of the package and it mentions various parts packs they intend on bringing out, including decals sets "& more" along with tires, bodies, custom accessories, wheels, motors...

motors?

how about a nice Buick nailhead with some few building options and maybe including something like hilborn fuel injection with aluminum preformed intake tubes. that would be sweet and there arent many depictions of this very iconic motor out there. didnt amt have a decent one in the Electra that was recently reissued? maybe that one has a hole in the oil pan, but if so that would be a nice upgrade to offer it without the hole.

oh and the bonneville style go kart and the triumph motorcycle from the early sixties pickups would make a sweet parts pack, but thats probably crazy thinking.

What kind of rims does #1 pack tires fit? Would they fit rims from Revell's 32 Ford 3/5 Window Coupes?

Saw them at the hobby store a few days ago. They're for "Sportsman" class race cars.

Since you've got an insider @ AMT, ask him to do a set of the new tampo-printed
Polyglas GTs in both sizes.

Nope, I just e-mailed them like anybody else, but I hope your wish comes true for the benefit of us all. I'm not sure Round2 could make them fast enough, though.  ^_^

Looks like Parts Pack #005 has a name:

AMT-PP5 - 1/25 Gasser Wheels & Tires Pack

I'm guessing these'll be the same wheels and tires included with the Ohio George '33 Willys kit?

My only complaint if this is true : The Ohio George car used 4 bolt fronts and about 99% of the other heavy hitter gassers used 5 bolts. So in effect these wheels are only correct for a small number of cars. (As nice as they are!)
