I'm still in the 'piddling with it' stage-


After I removed the 'paddles' from the kit wheels, I test fit one into a resin whitewall I had laying around.

Next up is removing the copyright engraving, up over where the rear axle goes-


And the other, up on top. Normally, this would not be visible unless you opened the trunk... so there's a clue for you as to one of the modifications I intend to make on mine.

Ditto, I've got a Dremel and a folder full of small rounded files

Got rid of the mold lines on the body- the rear ones are pretty faint but showed up with primer and a little wet sanding.


Not sure if any of the trim or handles will join the Jimmy Hoffa and the mold lines just yet. Guess we'll see shortly.

Chuck, you've got my attention. I trimmed off those front fender lights, the door handles, and some of those light mold lines on the body, but I left the side trim . . . I hope to be able to do something interesting in the paint booth shortly.

Keep the eye candy coming, everyone. Let's see if by the time Halloween comes around (Wow, a Halloween Hornet Build!) we have a bunch of these suckers build to show Moebius what happens when they put out a new kit!

Well, I've got mine in white Plastikote primer, but I am in total fear of what color or paint system to use, but it will come to me . . . in the meantime, things are drying nicely. Stay tuned in for progress pics . . .

Also, I've decided to go with my own mixed color, a red, using Auto Air Colors. I am doing some plastic spoon tests before I make a final commitment.

Here's the body in white primer looking pretty smooth . . .



The gas cap door comes as a separate part on this kit, so it could actually be glued open, but I didn't do it like that . . . (maybe the next one.)

After all is said and done, I think I'm going to call this one "HORNY HORNET'S 'PIMP DADDY'". LOL!

I think the colors came out too loud, but I promised myself I would build this one start to finish, no matter what.



One thing I recommend doing if you are going to use the visor is to cut off the pins and then glue the thing down at the end . . .the pins are a bit fragile and will break off after a few tries at mocking it up . . . so save yourself the frustration . . .

I still have to put a coat of dullcoat on the paint so that it's not so delicate . . .

Well, I keep pushing it . . . since I wasn't crazy about the yellow and red . . . well, now I really like it and here's why!



The rub-on decals come from the Pine Car section of my LHS. Lots of new choices these days, very cool.
