I wonder if it's based on the last issue of the 40? Although it's probably a reissue with some new parts?! Oh well, it's still cool!!

It looks like a straight reissue from the photo on Tower Hobbies site.

It's a straight reissue as far as I know. I'll confirm next week at IHOBBY. I'll be there Thursday sniffing around, taking photographs and collecting any intel the exhibitors will share.

I sent an e-mail to Revell as to whether this was a re-issue in 1/24th scale or if it was to be in 1/25th scale and no response yet. At least with Round 2 they respond immediatelly.

Thank, we'll see what happens. I just hope they are releasing it in white plastic, the new Revell standard. Less flash, etc . . .

Yes indeed that's what this one needs. Lowered suspension, and wide whites! It they rework it I'd love to have a few.

I have played around with this kit a bit recently. Some things hopefully have been addressed by Revell. Very bad hood fitment where it meets the cowl and the notches for the door hinges are over-large. Other than that, it's a good kit.

Too bad it won't build stock anymore. Does anyone recast the old AAM resin stock parts?

this is a redo of the late 70;s early 80;when molded in blue plastic..was first issue with those wheels..i like the lemon crate version with the hurricane wheels..and funny the plastic was yellow and smelled like lemons....

so what if it's the same version as the last reissue? not all of us have stashed unbuilts from the era, and regardless of the mixed styles and simplistic details, it builds up nice and straight and won't present an unsurmountable challenge for novice builders to produce a decent shelf sitter. if we make young builders shy away from this kit, Revell might be inclined to second-think more reissues later.....

the "young" builders are probably mostly all in thier 30's. there are some younger than that but it's not a whole lot.

I do wonder what the age range breakdown of active modelers are...when I go to shows or swap meets, the majority of the crowd seems to be 50+.

Rob, I think you are probably right. My experience is that this is a hobby for the middle ages! LOL. Every once in a while I see kits and a few teenagers. I think sometimes you get guys in their early twenties hooked . . . but it's getting rare these days.
