Yep, I didn't bother with an end date. If this gets so big as to be an issue to Gregg or Harry, we'll work something out then. But so far responce has been luke-warm. I'll keep it going though.

I don't see how a thread getting too big would be an issue- a healthy thread means a healthy forum, right?

I spent some time workin' on the 'Bird today.....

Here you can see my work bench



And here you can see where I painted the molded-in exhaust.



I used the ol' clicking ball point pen spring trick. You can see the kit-supplied springs versus the spring springs.....

Well I'm not much for taking pics DURRING my builds to show things off a bit, but here goes.

Here are a few teaser pics of what I have been able to get done so far.

The tabs to help mount the C5R rear suspension.


The rear end mocked up.


And a couple mocked up with the wheels and how she'll hopfully set after i get the front end figured out. OH, and the "body kit" I threw on there, too.

The Birds lookin crazy smooth Greg, very nice work! Your Maro is coming along nicely Shawn, love the body mods! Did finally get the body glossed. I redid the gunmetal and stripes with Citadel Boltgun, and Polyscale Reefer white. Both paints are nice to work with, although the polyscale stuff mixed with distilled water seemed to crack, but it sprayed good. The Citadel layed down real good. Think I'll be using it more in the future...speaking of future...that's what I cleared with.


After taking the pics, I'm gonna make some inserts for my paint booth to take pics. Just can't get enough light off of florescent bulbs.

Ok, I'll bite. I've got this Monogram '58 T-bird that's been painted and has been stalled and sitting now for way too long. It's time to get 'er on the bench and finish 'er up. This is the perfect build thread to make sure that happens.

Love the paint work on this Greg! I'm very tempted to try something similar on my '62 Buick.

I love Watson-style panel painted cars. The '58 T-bird just begs for this treatment. I'm just glad the project is rolling again.

I'll feather the edges of the primer with some 3600 grit tomorrow, rinse and hit it with another light coat of paint. We'll see how it looks.

If you don't mind, I would like to join in.I don't have a list cause it would probly take up most of this thread.So, I'll just slap one in from time to time after I finish the last one.Is that cool?My first thought that came to mind when I read this thread,The AMT Jaguar XJ220.It was stalled because of the alligator skin paint job I did,lol.Here are the pics from today as she sits,out of the box.
The body is in the stripper now as I type.Looks like it may come off easy.Because thats what I used Easy Off.Cheezy I know.

Got it up on all fours now.Gotta glue the converters in yet.Stripped and primered the front lid.Waiting for the body to strip.Then a mulligan on the paint begins.

It's been a while since I've had time to get some updated pics up for my Camaro build. I haven't gotten much done this week but here are a few pics of what I did get to do. Sorry if some of them are a bit on the fuzzy side (stupid camera).

The updated C5R engine. I ordered my stacks from Wheelman and shortened them to fit under the hood. I sat at work on Tuesday while on break and made the fuel rails and installed the braided line for some extra effect.


The interior. Generic red & black, with a mixed red & black flocking for the carpeted areas. I think it looks fairly sharp.


And the wheels. Standard C5R BBS wheels. Painted the centers the same Cherry red as the interior for a little accent.

Okay she is painted and foiled. Because of the shade of gold used, the foil is doesn't really pop. I'm going to spend the evening designing the racing livery for the Carrera Panamericana.
