Thats the wheel base should of released the ford and chevy vans in, I guess I was thinking about newer vans that have what I think of as a standard wheel base (pic above).

IIRC, the AMT Chevy van was a long wheelbase and their Ford was a short wheelbase. The Revell Chevy van is short wheelbase, I think. I have a couple MPC Ford vans from around 1980 in my stash, can't recall if they are SWB or LWB.

You are right, the AMT van was the long and Revell was short. I have not yet built and ford van from MPC

Yea, the AMT vans are of the longer 125" wb vans while the Revell is of the short 110" vans, not sure what all GM did to the unibody 1/1 van's structure when they added the 15 passenger model in '89 or '90 where instead of just adding a few feet to the tail like Ford and Chrysler, they added it between the side door(s) and rear wheels. It should br fairly easy to take an A-Team van or two and chop them up and reassemble the longer pieces accordingly..

I did that with a lot of the AMT 911 vans to make ENG live trucks, for everyone I made (6) I went thru a lot of van kits at the time

Not new kits but I'll be real happy to get a couple more of each.

Looks like the Chevy's gonna have some cool graphics options,,

And the Vantom's on the list too. Pic is of the one in my stash, wonder if the new reissue will have more graphics options too ??

these are two to get for sure. My question is where did you get the info that they are being re-issued?

I was hoping for Van re-issues. I am too young to remember them the first time around (35), I am glad to see these, and I will get at least one of each from Revell and AMT. I did try the Van revell released in 2000 but I hosed the aint job and I think I threw it away, in a purge of hopeless projects.

I am thinking one of these soon to be released van kits and an extra camper I have laying around from the Model King a few years ago and I just might have me a mini-motor home circa 1975!

Gotta make room for more models! Nice to see the model companies bringing us stuff we have been waiting for.

Could this all mean we are heading into a new heyday in model car manufacturing. The other day I walked into my local hobby shop and for the first time in a long time I saw a floor to ceiling, 12 feel long display of model car kits. It was even larger than the other types of models.

All of this is great for us builders! Keep bringing it on. I can smell the Pintos and Vegas around the corner!

I do hope the Dodge comes back, and hopefully with the right grille this time. I want to cut one down into a short-wheelbase 'Mini Ram' Wagon like my long-gone '83.
