What we REALLY need is a 1/24-25 split window! :)

Absolutely!
Until then, we have to alter the Gunze/Mr. Hobby oval window.
Or whack out the division bar of the Revell and make a 1:16 Inch Pincher out of it.

I agree. Buy it. Don't even think about whether or not you should. I reviewed it many moons ago in CAR MODELER and had my socks knocked off by how nice the kit was. That said, we still need a good split-window Beetle in 1/24-1/25 scale.

I agree with Larry. VERY nice kit.... just too darn big. A 1/25 Split would be great, especially with a Hebmuller option!

I'm all for a split Beetle in 1:24/5 scale, but I'd really like to see a Thing kitted first.
Reworking a Hasegawa Kubelwagen just isn't really workable.

This is a '60 model, but there are a LOT of great reference pics here. Check it out, just seeing a 60 Beetle with 7500 actual miles is a pretty cool thing to behold anyway!

Yes I have one on the shelf, not quite finished, worth every penny! My body shell is in a creamy-beige colour out of the box and I've not painted it!

Isn't there also a "Thing" in this scale, too? Haven't seen one in a long time.

There is/was a companion Karmann Ghia kit in 1/16 scale, but I don't think there were any more Revell-AG variants.

Tamiya did a 1/16 WWII Kübelwagen; there has yet to be a Thing kitted in any scale.

So what's up with the headliner ? Looks like some kind of peel back soft top going on.

The builder has the option of cutting the center section out of the roof and buidling the car with the canvas top opened/folded back.

It's a pic from 2005, and a lot of the other kits are gone, but my RoG splits and Ghia are in the top left:

I think I may need one of these for my 1/16th scale collection....lol I need to take a look at my LHS to see if they have one.

Yes, another vote to get one in 1/24 or 1/25 scale. I don't normally build larger scales but, may have to get one of these. The smaller scale would probably cost just as much if it ever is released, does that help make the 1/16 sound more like a bargain?
