so im wondering...im planning on building a nissan truckskie for a different build anyway...would that qaulify ?

Got the E-type almost completed, just the thorny task of fitting the tilting front end and a few minor jobs to finish. Weather here is awful at the moment, but got some primer on the DTM Mercedes and will start building that before I jet off to Canada for the holidays.

cool, ill look up the exact year and get started on it shortly
it is a nissan truck, but since it will be an offroad vehicle i need to check the partsbox for a good motor because the 350 thats in it wont do the trick

Paul- your JAG is looking really good, cant wait to see it all finished up.

I love the old nissan hard body trucks, I remember when I was a kid, had one of revell or monogram datsun truck kits, I would love to get another one .

Thanks Jonathan - looking forward to your next build(s) and the others too. I fly out on Friday so don't expect much progress on my builds but I would like to see the Jag finished.

Rainy day yesterday so had a good time on the Merc engine/chassis. It fell together, just like the Audi, but the decals for the valve covers are too short . Hope the other 70-odd decals are ok . Yes, I know I didn't remove the Revell trademark etc, it's all hidden anyway, plus I forgot and just wanted to build yesterday





Got the wheels/brakes painted & decaled tonight, dullcote on the wheels to tone down the chrome. Will apply decals to tyres and then dullcote these too.

The chassis and brakes are looking really good, that sucks that decals are to short, and I never remove the trademarks from the chassis's

Have to go on building my Volvo/Audi hybrid. Gotta do a custom made frame for it thou i guess. Will be a little difficult to get the Audi DTM parts to fit in the Volvo Amazon. But have to try it first to modifie the Volvo first. Pics when i m a little longer in to the next stage of the build.

after reviewing my model it is a 70s ish datsun pick'm'up truck
im not sure if it was ever sold in the US or not, if someone can tell me ill decide if it qualifies for this build

Its ok, its a foreign manufacture so its a go

allright, ill start the build next time im heading down into the mancave
be forewarned thoug, im a slow builder (though not as slow as this truck with that rotten 350 it came with, now worries though, i found a primo 440 to replace it with)

No worries, I dont plan on closing this CBP any time soon, there a ton of foreign car kits that I want to build , so just myself I could keep this CBP going for a long time

Finished the Merc DTM wheels tonight with some dullcote to tone down the tyre decals which are too glossy. Still a little shiny but I don't want to overdo it


Also started applying decals to the body - this will take a couple of evenings I reckon

Well... ALMOST had a kit ready to do for this CBP. Got a Tamiya Nissan Skyline GT2000 GT-R in the mail last week. Trouble is, when it arrived the box looked like it had been backed over by a dually five or six times. Good news is the guy refunded me, paid to get the mangled kit shipped back, and says I have first crack at the next example of that kit he gets... and he's not sending it UPS next time.

Long story short... might end up digging out an AMT Opel GT just to have something on the bench in the meantime.

Chuck- that sucks, but least you got your money back, I have a few skylines on my wanting to do list , I want to do the skyline KPG C10, i think thats the same kit you were going to do

Todays update. Had to chop away half of the Amazon bottom to get room whit the engine and transaxel. But what a heck im a finn and that means that when we have decide to do something we just go ahead and do
