I'm drooling, Ryan. I got some 356 kits just for the wheels and engine to use on other builds. NOW I can build a whole 356 and not worry about using the wheels!!!!

I woulds like to see a Photo etched VW engine. I know the heads and block would have to be resin but some photo-etch cylinders would be cool. I also have some multi-pc Porsche wheels avalible http://www.earlyyearsresin.com/. Will be working on a set of duel webers and intakes soon.

Those resin bits look great, Ryan! I'm really looking forward to having some deeper buggy wheels without hacking my only set of 356 or Kubel wheels apart. B)

Look up Gionc. He is from Italy and produces a great photoetch set for the Porsche 356, besides the cylinder head set. He also does resin (ScuderiaItalia.Lab @ Stradasports.com) Not sure if he's still producing anything, though..

Ryan - Great casting! Wow! I'd love to have a set of widened smoothy VW wheels...for an eventual Herbie build. Those could serve as a basis with filled in slots, I'd think. I'd be interested in a set of stock and a set of widened or two... :)

Oh, I picked up the Manx kit today. Mine's in white plastic. I did put together the display base. Kind of flimsy. May have to do a glue and tape rebuild on it.

Is this kit on hobbyshop shelves, or due this month? I'm a bit confused by conflicting reports I have read.

I sent him smoothies from both the Hasegawa Kübelwagen and the Gunze/Mr. Hobby '56 Beetle, so I wouldn't worry about having to fill any wheel holes.
