I'll have to get a detached garage, and turn it into my very own personal 'model museum'... chronicling my models from first to (at some point) last....

Speaking of models, I was recently commissioned by local band Primo Noctis to build/photograph/digitally edit their first EP's album cover. So far, I've built, painted, and now detail painting the throne and floor base for it...

Once I get a free moment after work, I will post a thread in 'Other Models' to chronicle THAT build progress

...who knows? Maybe this will be the first of many commissioned works for me. I'd love to get paid to do something I absolutely love

It doesn't look big, but this update feels GOOD to me! I've been stuck on a protective roof and finally something I like came to be. It'll be covered with some kind of mesh. The engine has been keeping me busy .. it's a real finicky build. Kept having to wait for glue to dry for stability before proceeding to next step. There was too much adjusting needed to use super-glue all the way. The gun mount is done and the steering shaft fitted as can be seen in photos. Still in mockup mode, but the roof IS glued down! It does look like the air scoop will need shortening to clear the roof ... just how this would have evolved out of the scrap pile.

The wheels are going to be what I had posted before from the Scorpian. They're not off road but are big and this is just a light scout car so hopefully won't look out of place. The rims look "mechanical" enough for this also ..

Hopefully can get more done .. while cutting the air scoop shorter my thumb intercepted the knife.. ehehe Of COURSE I know to never move the blade TOWARD the body!!

I got a permagrin today. Look what I got.

Can finally get around to accomplishing something. I also brought my Dad's Tyrone Malone Boss Truck and tore it completely apart last night. It came apart amazingly easy. Now to the reason I did this. I am going to cast some of the parts on the 12v71 for the one going it this truck. I plan to cast the superchargers with the intake hats and the tubing and twin turbos and intake box on it. So I guess it is time for some trial and error casting since I have never done it. Wish me luck. WIll post good update pics soon since I got me front drive axle and all the pieces to the chassis except rims and tires now.

you know what, I was at hobby town today and the War Hammer stuff is pretty cool, I never looked at them before but some would be great for this build.

Warhammer stuff -is- awesome...

Unfortunately it's costly. I've been wanting to get some for my collection, but just for one kit with a good bit of parts it's like...30 or 40 bucks. They should carry grab bags of random detail bits from WH40k for us oddball builders that enjoy the over-the-top-ness of arming our builds to the teeth! I'd buy plenty of those, if they were reasonably priced.

Rob I was thinking the same thing, some kits online are $66!!!! I would buy bits and pieces from some of the tank or imperial guard models

I enjoy Necron technology... got some really good stuff in those kits!

Alright so small update. Been workin away on the cabs. I am slowly but surely cutting my way through the hood of the B87 and I sanded all the unessesary flash and cast stuff from the B61. I also opened up the rear window on the B61.



I also found out with my design I did on sketchup and with the new parts for the chassis the chassis needs a 1.5" extension to get it to the right length.

OK so now the front has been trimmed, cut off the the hood and shaved the fenders. Realized I almost burned through one but stopped before doing so so it can be fixed. Still need to trim more resin out of the hood area and then cut it in half to hinge it. I chewed up the B87 cab mor then I had hoped so I am gonna cut the doors out of it so I can hinge them on the sleeper cab.

yes I ground down thw brackets at the back of the fender so they look better.
