Hi guys it's been quit awhile since I have posted here I have been having computer problems. I just stumbled across this community build and just happen to be working on a post apocalyptic diorama. It involves a 1/20 scale Lindberg AMC Gremlin that I have made into a 4WD battle car, a Bandi Votoms 1/20 scale Scopedog Mech and a couple of figures. I don't have any progress pictures yet but I'll get some as soon as I can.

Pics are always nice. Glad to hear your computer problems are rectified - hate it when I crash. Your build sounds interesting and I'm looking forward to photos.

Roger, looking forward to your build.

Scott, I can wait to see your model get some paint on.

Hopefully over this long weekend I'll get started - looking forward to chipping and rusting. The build is complete with the exception of PE seatbelts...still waiting on those to arrive, but I can start to paint nonetheless.

Thanks. Here's a final minor update before primer.

Decided to scratch a 'headlight' for this thing. What a chore...trying to simulate a halogen shop light. Inside is lined with metallic tape, and a large diameter fiber optic used for the bulb. Once the paints on, and the mask is off, should look decent.

Here's the obligatory primer shot. Main assembly at least.

I hope to get some progress pics of my dio later this week in the mean time here are a couple of pictures I found online of the two main components. The Scopedog is going to be knocked out laying on it's back with a skeletal pilot figure in the cockpit. A female post apocalyptic warrior will be standing over the pilot gun drawn making sure there is no zombie stuff going on, her 4wd battle Gremlin setting nearby.

Roger, I love the Scopedog. I have one of those kits and it is on the list of kits to build. That Gremlin is just crying out to be built.

Thanks, DC

Tonight I got about 4 hours of bench time. Here are the results.

First, a base of rusty brown:

Then I painted the rear fins a white/flat aluminum mix:

Salt was next, followed by red on the bars, black on the frame, and a mid grey everywhere else:

After:

Decals, designed and printed this afternoon.....at...work:

Couldn't resist trying to get one of them on tonight:

Obviously still a ton to do. I think I'll go back in with red and sponge the frame. Same for the engine and other 'chrome' parts. The rest of the painting will have to be by brush and try to get different shades of aluminum on the bars and rods.

ONE QUESTION: What color should I paint the rotors?

Thanks guys!

Well been away from the bench for a bit but finally got back to building. Here is an update on my Project Viper zombie hunter. I need to work on the turret a little and some touch up paint then weather.

Shannon, that first pic...I was thinking...cool tank. Then the next revealed a car. Very cool!

Curtis, thank you sir.

Derrick, same to you. Appreciate it.

Well another couple of hours at the bench tonight. Last night, honestly, was one of those nights when things just seem to go badly. Not sure why...just 2nd guessing my 'order of operations'. I usually get that way on the first 'paint day'...

Tonight though...pure fun.

Here's where she's at. Lots left to do. Kinda regret gluing everything up...hard to paint. I might have to pop off the battery to detail and wire that. We'll see.
