mistermodel Posted January 28, 2012 Share Posted January 28, 2012 A piece of frame from a kit that's the same is best.If you can find a channel the same size use it.You can make your own channel with flat stock also. I cut the frame on 45 angles and if possible stagger the joints from one side to the other.I've done many that way and are strong.The last one I did I never and it warped. Be sure to get the fish plate on the back of the rail super tight inside the channel and make it at least a couple inches longer than the splice your adding.You may have to add a extra cross member as well. Also use super glue or liquid glue ,the tube stuff takes to long to gas out and the fumes trapped between the fish plate and rail could warp the plastic.
