What kind of animals do you like? Do they influence you in any way shape or form as a model builder? I'm interested in this topic because I find that most of the time when I am building I am thinking of animals or the names of animals to call particular builds. But every once in a while I think of doing a build that's got some animal part in it., i.e., stinger, legs, wings, etc..

We all know that a lot of cars have been given names of horses, etc . . . but I am thinking in particular of how you've been influenced by animals in your builds.

It would be wonderful to see what you've built thinking of animals or being influenced by them.

Here's my example of a build I did last year thinking of one of my favorite insects: the scorpion.

um..... wouldnt that be a " scarpion"? .........
as a rural American, I see all kinds of animals here
in Montana, alot of them are named after cars or sports teams.
have not themed a build after any of them yet.

My favorite would have to be a dog, but still, dogs don't really influence my building

Mike W, I like those, but I'm hoping to see builds that you've built or anyone else for that matter that might have been influenced by a creature (big or small).

The most prevalent examples in terms of design come from horses. Or maybe even those that come from mythology. Pegasus, FIREBIRD . . . etc . . .

Just curious to see some of your own versions.

My friend "Dinky" influences alot of my model builds....some good and some bad. He steals parts from time to time and gets hair in a paint job.

Another lesson I've learned from young Dinky-- Some times he wants to share his enthusiasm and make new friends only to get a face full of Porkie-Pine quills.

Looked and could not find the picture we had from back in the late 70's! We worked in Sparta Wi. and every day passed a place that made thos giant fiberglas people and animals.
A Fried Chicken restaraunt had a delivery car (full size Pontiac if memory serves me) that had the chickens head mounted on the roof and the tail on the trunk lid with the car painted up in feathers.

Had one of those Focus Pony's and it couldn't keep up with a Missouri Mule!

Johnny, those kinds of cars that double as advertising for some companies are still around like the Truly Nolen bugs. Those are always cool.

These days they just pay a company to wrap them up with some plastic graphics and call it a day.

Jacen, the Sting Ray comes to mind when you mentioned "sharks." All those beautiful Corvettes.

Hey, Ed, where do you keep all these dios? They all look like 1/24th scale so they must be taking up quite a bit of room.
