Ted...a new hobby store is going in at Davis and shadowlawn....I've been to Hobby Lobby in Ft Myers...not worth the drive...Paradise is a bit better.

I drove passt this location, to see how the construcion is coming along, and to my surprise it was open.
They have a decent selection of car models plus lots of tools and building materials. Much better than the only other hobby shop in town.
Their prices were pretty good, too. Much better than I would have thought.

Come on up to Ocala on the 1st Saturday of every month for a FAST (Florida Auto & Scale Trucks) meeting. We have members travel from Gainesville, Jacksonville, Safety Harbor, Daytona, and Orlando every month. Our next meeting is April 7 and we'll be doing a BMF tutorial.

Thanks, Jim. It's a 4-hour drive from Naples, but we go past Ocala (and Garlits' Museum) several times a year. I'll see if we can arrange a trip to be there on one of your Saturdays. What time do you start?

yeah i left flordia for work up couldnt find work down there.loved the area hell you probbly crossed paths once or twice i know a couple good honey holes for kits if you need them lmk

The economy got worse here. The County started taking 3% for a retirement fund for employees. Courts say illegal and now the County has to pay the money back plus interest. Citrus County has no idea where they'll get another million or so. Maybe a raise in the millage rate for higher taxes.

Kits? Cheap? Of course I'm interested. Locally it's either Rob's Hobby World or Hobby Lobby.

in homosassa theres a pawn shop that has all kinds of kits and pretty fair on on the cash side.no building supplies abc pawn by the burger king

golf, planes, or RC,, Like to hear from some local builders,, Nothing else, maybe we can swap some parts and a couple good lies..HAHA..

I think if we all put our heads together maybe we can organize a big FLA. STATE-WIDE model club, and then have a yearly NNL Style Show that moves around the State from year to year. One year in Orlando, one year in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami, one year in JAX, one year in PENSACOLA . . . well, you get the point. And TAMPA too.
