That's gonna look great all patina'd and rusted up, with gaping holes in the sides and ratty upholstery!

Ha, Danno. Wrong, I say. Wrong! LOL.

Tyler, that's a wonderful color and stripes on that vehicle. I think the next one I am going to do with painted on stripes just like yours.

Thanks, and do stay tuned in for more progress.

Danno, I'm guilty of a similar response ... my gut reaction when I saw Docs first Cobra post was, "Cool, I've never seen one of these junked... I wonder if he remembers that the bodys are aluminum and won't rust?..."

Looking good Dr.!

Thank you, Jim.

I think the next one will be midnight blue . . . we'll see, with silver stripes. Or maybe some airbrushed graphics.

Well, here's the progress on the new build. I took the 41 Willys frame and modified it to fit under the Cobra. I also had to modify the wheel wells in the rear and open the hood . . . all in a all a couple of day's worth of work so far . . .

I am also using the Hemi from the Revell 41 Willys kit. I've always loved that engine and if I had a dollar for every time I've used it, I could by another dozen kits.

Posted Image

The frame modification was simple enough and it's given me the confidence to be able to use this chassis under a whole bunch of vehicles. This is not the gasser frame, but the street rod . . .

Posted Image

The rest of the build is just getting all the other Cobra kit parts ready . . .

Here's another angle of the shortened frame. It's all going to be painted in semi gloss black . . . simple enough.

Posted Image

Other than all the body chrome bits that will go on at the end, here's the spread of the parts that will go into primer and paint shortly . . .

Posted Image

There are also some after market parts like the wired distributor that's missing . . .

In recent years (since switching to the AB as my main paint source) this is the way I like to build. Simplify things by building and gluing up the chassis and then painting all the parts with the AB . . .

Here's the Hemi mocked up on the shortened chassis . . .

As a huge fan of the AC Cobras I would find this type of modification blasphemous to everything Cobra but its so ###### cool.... I want to see more!!

Dirk, LOL, I am sure this one will crank up everyone who loves Cobras and Gassers, but not the two in the same vehicle.

I am just going to go ahead and continue to blame Donn Yost for all this madness!

Dirk, it's the 41 Willys (Revell) blower. I love that engine and use it all the time because the parts are just beautiful.
