Thanks Vince.....Mr. Bones was given to me years ago by an ol' gear head buddy.
It's fully articulated as you can see by the way I've posed it in the pics.
All the pieces snap together (there's a bunch of 'em), ball & socket joints etc.

If you're asking if one could be purchased somewhere...I have no idea.
I searched the net a few times quite a while back but never came across another.

Jim, besides being a grumpy old fart, just about anyone who knows me figures I've inhaled way too much high octane vapor.

I had this Topo grille shell roughed out to start with...it's the plastic nose piece from the 1/12th Lindy kit. I tweaked it a little, threw some Super Sculpey at it and got to thinking.........yeah, I know...I shouldn't be doing that, right?

Anyway......if I had to be right up front in harms way with bones driving this thing, I do believe I'd look a little concerned.

Aww shucks...you don't like the goofy face Adam?....how 'bout if I tweak it little......

Posted Image

Just kiddin' pal, I will be using the shell (NO EYE BALLS) but the mask will be white and there will be a black hood and cape that I'm going to try to flow back to the fire wall before the paint goes to screaming yellow.

Now is as good a time as any to stick this cut down metal block together. Being it's butt joints and the chunks are pot metal I'm going to have to strenghten the joints a bit to prevent future cracking. Here's some pics of what I did.

Block pieces tacked together with CA.

Posted Image

I cut some strips of thin aluminum to cover the seams.

Posted Image

Mixed up and spread some JB weld (quick set) over the seams and imbedded the aluminum into it while still wet. Before it dried I smeared some more epoxy over everything.

Posted Image

Same procedure for all the seams inside the block. Ain't pretty but it's strong and it'll never see the light of day again once the block is closed up.

Did some 2-part and primer filler, sanding and so on...

Posted Image

Posted Image

Shot some more primer and it's starting to look pretty decent......but I'm not feeling it yet, too smooth....I want it to look like a cast iron block....I'll deal with that next post.

I love your grill. It reminds me of a grill on a big rig in a horror movie back I think in th 80s? Vary cool though.

I sprayed the block with textured paint to give it a cast look. I wasn't after the color...just the texture.
This particular paint has a texture that isn't so coarse that it looks way out of scale.

Yellow of course........

Now I'll have to fab up some heads, intake and a trans.
