I didnt realize the wheels are unique to this kit, as they appear to be slightly different than the wagon wheels in other versions.

They do indeed. The usual wagon wheels are triangle holes whereas these ones appear to be trapezoids...

Thanks for the info. I have the Gone Fishing set,looks like a neat model. The boat is also pretty nice replica of a Ranger 363. Wife built the version that came with the El Camino...looks great. I'll dust it off and post a pic

One complaint I have concerning this kit is the sunroof. I wished they had molded the body so that the sunroof was an option like they did with their other kits. I dread having to fill in that hole for the sunroof!

I agree, but the aftermarket sunroof craze was in full swing by the time these kits were released, so I can understand why they did it:




I don't love how the rear hatch is molded as one with the body, either, but it probably helped with stability, especially after the kit was packed in the box:

Rear suspension showing extended shackles, which look like blocks:

Not sure if the rollbar was included in the non-HR version or not, but there are extended shocks for front and rear, and the rear look very much like "helper" coil over-type shocks:




There are both optional diamond plate steps, like so...:

This may not be unique to the HR version, but the base two-spoke steeting wheel which was used in almost every Mopar car and truck from '78+ is very well done:

That would be a fair representation of the venerable New Process 205, cast iron, gear driven case. The version in the Monogram GM pickups is better, you would think they'd have used the same?

I did and found them. I have searched many sites and have only found like 10 or so builds with pics! I know there are more out there!
