Jason yes the kit does come with the wheels on the box but the fronts scale out to 23 and rears about 26. Not the look I was after for this build. Saving them for something else. Thanks for the kind words.

they are some big wheel in them kits some times there no kit they fit on but a fullsize truck kit the revells ram/chevy/f150s and the dunk caddy truck too

Its been a long time since I've updated this thread. I'm still working on this build but did have some delays along the way when there was a little construction going on at my house. I'm also just not so great at keeping my posts updated anymore lol. Here are some new pics and I'll keep adding updates and progress along the way.

Here I'm working on the new intake tube. Polished aluminum piece added and also added some Archer dry transfers for warning labels and such.




I wanted a flat bottom steering wheel and couldn't find any in my parts bin so I opted to make one from bent solder and plastic bits.

I also needed to make a new emergency brake handle so I chucked some round aluminum tubing into the dremel and carved some thin finger grip/grooves into it with the back of an xacto.



Next up were the gauges. The kit gauges kinda stink so I cut thin slices of aluminum tube for the bezels and found some gauge faces online. I reduced them in Word and printed them out in size. Only the essentials here .. RPM, boost, and oil lol punched out with a micro punch from Micro Mark.






Here is a shot of the interior. Mounted the new e-brake, shifter, and pedals.

Nice detail added to this kit! Never had one but looks like your adding a lot of good stuff to a kit that didn't have a lot to offer to start with.

Here I started work on a shift light. Aluminum tube for the body, styrene rod for the end cap, and MV Lenses. The mounting bracket came from a PE hood hinge set from Aber. In order to drop in the lens I drilled out the aluminum tube body with a drill bit larger than the inner diameter of the tubing. This created a ledge on the inner section of the tube so the lens will have somewhere to rest when dropped in. The end cap is just a section of styrene rod which was drilled to accept the aluminum tube body and the other end was shaped and smoothed with sand paper. More to come. Forgot to add this picture of the Aber hood hinge fret. It's where I got the bracket for the shift light. Picked up a couple of these a while back from hlj.com.

Hi Steve! Thanks for the kind words. The pedals are from Model Car Garage. They released some 'tuner' type pedals a while back if I recall. Under a magnifying glass you can actually make out that they are Sparco brand pedals lol.

Your detail work on this is phenomenal. I am in awe of how each piece is just simplicity in scratch building techniques but they turn out to be so highly detailed looking. I love the work on the steering wheel especially. Great job.

Just FYI....where you have the battery is suppose to be a dry sump oil tank....the battery is in the back behind the rt rear

Keith, your right. The base Vette has the battery located where I placed mine. The ZO6 has it in the cargo area. I didn't realize this at the time I did my research that there was a difference in battery placement between the two. This is a model though, and I would have placed it right where I have it regardless of whether I had known or not to detail this otherwise boring area of the engine bay. Nice catch though!
