Actually the Moon Scope was readily available in the 60's-70's. Ira Dahm did a series in Car Model Mag entitled "Variations on a Moon Scope" Here are thee.

I have seen a few of those. Once at an auction, butt hey were combined in a box lot
4 or 5 of them. Went more than I wanted to pay
