I once traded away a mint condition Little Deuce kit. I thought my friend really wanted it, and he was offering a bunch of IMC Ford GT built bombs in various stages of falling apart.
He, in turn, traded it away to a collector, and I now have several better quality Fujimi GT40 kits. Those IMC junks are just stashed away somewhere.
Live and learn.

My only regret was a kit I sent a modeler who claimed to want it to replicate his recently deceased Grandfather's truck, sort of a tribute build. I asked him to send me $6 to cover the shipping and the kit was his. It was the old GMC stepside kit (1972?) and while not rare, they haven't reissued them and could fetch $20 or so at a swap meet or on eBay. I felt I wasn't going to build it and felt sorry for the young guy about the loss of his Grandfather so off I sent it. Imagine my disappointment when he posted on the forum about how he "scored" a kit and couldn't wait to chop it up to make a low rider custom out of it! I commented that I thought it was supposed to be a replica of his Grandfathers' truck and he laughed me off, basically calling me a fool. That experience has me somewhat jaded about such deals and I am hesitant to do any similar deals as a result.

I got some space cleared out of my mailbox. What do you have to trade? I like pretty much anything but nascar & showrods.

I am sorry to hear about this Mike. I hate to see people take advantage of the the good nature of others.

My problem is I rarely trade a kit that I don't have multiples of. Therefore I really cannot regret giving up a kit. What I do regret is getting rid of most of the kits that I had when I was younger. Leaving home I left my models behind and foolishly told my parents to throw them out.

My only regret was selling a matched pair of purple MPC Barracuda and Challenger promos.I sold them in the mid 90s to a vendor at Toledo for $300 each.I should have either held out for more or kept them.I'm not much into promos but those I think I moved too soon.
P.S.-I still have their stripe decal sheets somewhere in my stash.

Not traded, but dumped in the 70's when I had no idea of "traditional" nor "vintage". There was the Sizzler Dragster, Blue Beetle, Yellow Jacket ( I tried to "update" it with 70's parts, but the difference between 1/24 and 1/25 made it a fail ) but most of all, an AMT 64 Ford Fairlane. Lots of mods to make it look like a Shelby Fairlane, gloss olive drab ( it was beautiful ) hand painted trim, on and on. I had it still perfect since built in the late 60's until a "girlfreind" had her way about 10 years ago. What a freakin mistake. If she lasted, well, maybe I could forgive, but she was gone-gone-gone!

For me it would have to be my two Tamiya 1/10th Scale Bruisers. One I had completely restored back to original from a bucket of scrap parts. The other was a Bruiser as well that I was scaling out to be a detailed 1.9 Rock Crawler from my left over parts. It has a complete bed with working tailgate and even working tailgate latches which I thought was really cool.

This is one of my best pictures ever, the other I don't have loaded to my photobucket... it was of my son playing with the chassis.... The best part ever was his first word was, "Guk"

Dying with the "most toys" just means your wife has a bigger yard sale.

I'm told the going price that widows ask is about $1 per car. :P

My wife tells me it would just pay her back for her to drag everything out to the driveway. ;)

Then, she could use the $$$ to buy a few more kitchen gadgets.

100% dead mint unbuilt still sealed inner bags - Roger Lindamoods MPC 1968 Color Me Gone Charger funnycar

I got scared of all the AMT/MPC reboxed re-issues and traded it off to avoid loosing my ars on it when or if it was re-issued.

Never should have gotten rid of the kit.

Actually it depends on what year cars they were.

I'll give you an example.
I have a mint limelight 1970 Hemi Cuda promo - I paid $600 to get it about 3 years ago ( not worth that now, but I don't want to sell it anyway)

I Sold a dead mint curious yellow 1971 Hemi Cuda promo in the original box about 2 years ago - $800
