Hey gang,
I just painted the 70 1/2 Camaro yesturday. Question is, how long should I wait before I clear coat it? I was told at least 2 to 3 days. Also do I bmf the trim before I clear coat or after?
Thanks. Kirt
When do I clear coat?

Waiting 2-3 days is good. I usually do a mist coat of clear, then BMF, and then clear again.

All depends on what kind of paint you used.
When I airbrush my cars, I can clearcoat within an hour.
With rattle-cans, it is a good idea to wait until they are gassed, so 24hours at roomtemperature at least. Add24 hours when the spraycans where not acrylic, but alkyd or lacquer-based.
When to apply the BMF is personal, I choose to do it after the clearcoat, it has a more natural look and is easier to apply, due to the slickness of the clearcoat.
