I lowered it and used the big-diameter Americans from a Revell '65 Chevy C10. I also added some polished aluminum exhaust tips, cut from 5/32" K&S tubing. And yes, I decided to take the easy way out and run a bed cover, rather than make up a floor and walls for an open bed. I'd like for this thing to have at least some fighting chance of getting done one day!

Along these same lines, Pontiac made a couple of LeMans/El Camino prototypes around 1980 that looked great! At least one of them still exists in the G.M. Museum in Detroit.

Isn't that a beauty?
Agreed. I think the JPS/Special Edition T/A color scheme pretty much sold itself in the '76-'78 time period, and a shaker scoop and screaming chicken on the hood would've been even better.

In 1966 Pontiac made a prototype Grand Prix pickup, I saw it at Good Guys car show in Scottsdale a few years ago.
I had to google it. Pretty handsome ute.

I'd suggest finding a kit with a separate bed and inner walls, then trimming as needed to fit the Charger body.I really want to have a bed in mine so I can put cargo and/or a minibike in it.Any suggestions?
Jairus also did a rendering of a custom Pontiac-camino like the one shown (I think), and if I recall Pontiac built a car/truck prototype in 1959.

Though mine was basically an '86 El Camino parts donor kit, which had no engine or wheels when I got it. I didn't know what the Regal nose was from at the time, but I now think it was an old AMTsnap-together NASCAR kit. I also added a Vortec 4.3 V6 from a '95 Sonoma and some American five-spokes.
