Gee Chuck, no rust, baling wire or mish mash of pieces, have you turned over a new leaf in your building?

Kidding aside, that is looking great and the details are making this really nice. Looking forward to seeing it done.

Got a sweet billet steering wheel today- and on that note... the interior is finished! I've also painted the inserts in the seats black, to break up the yellow islands in the otherwise mostly black interior. Hope to have the cab on for good tomorrow.

Here's what I have at this point-
Posted Image
Glass, mirrors, air cleaners, visor, and lenses are in place, and the cab is permanently mounted. Still need to connect the air intake ducting under the hood, but it's technically a only battery and at least one fuel tank away from 'drivable'.

Speaking of, that's the next thing I have to figure out. I don't plan on using the stock aero skirts, so I need to plan out the tank, box, and step setup for each side.

I'm leaning toward leaving it a tractor, but I might put a body of some sort on the back. As always, we'll see.

I've never had any interest in this kit, until now. What an improvement over stock.

Taking a short break from this one for a bit. I'd planned to finish this, then get to work on a custom Transtar show truck, but working on this made me want to get started on the Transtar. So that's what I'll be doing. :D

It's actually worse than that... the whole time I was working on the cab and hood of the LoneStar, I was thinking about the Transtar...

Hey, look! Progress...

I used some K&S aluminum tubing to make some slash cut stacks. I wanted them to be tucked behind the cab instead of out past it, though the pipes did end up a little closer to the back wall of the cab than I'd have liked. Too late to change it now, though! I do have to go back and polish some areas where the superglue fogged the aluminum. There's no muffler- just a straight pipe off the turbo to the T on under the cab.
I also cut off the kit mudflaps and replaced them with ones made from thinner (.020") styrene. I also made new weights and decorated them with some Detail Master truck mates.
