Hello everyone
A while ago I was looking through a old Model Cars magazine and saw that a resin caster that I believe was Mill City Resin or something close to that produced a convertible body for the 70 Buick GS Revell kit. I'm thinking hes not in business anymore. Does anyone know if they are still around under another name? Maybe someone else might be offering it? Better yet, does someone have one they never used? Thank you for any answers

Mill City Replicas was the maker of the '70 GS ragtop body, in fact, it was his last product before he went belly-up. It was also his nicest, IMO.

I missed the chance to get one for myself when he was still in business. Hopefully some enterprising resin caster can resurrect it.

Thanks for the info! It was an old magazine so I figuered he was no longer produceing this. Thanks for all the great articles

I got one last year, but he is an email or sase only operation. I have his pamphlet of stuff around here somewhere with the contact info, I'll post it if I can find it. He also has a '38 Ford COE and '56 Ford COE.

That would be very cool. I have one on a Dump Truck build from years ago. But, now find myself in need of another.

Yes, I know it's a '36 Ford trunkback sedan, but does anyone know what caster may have produced it? I bought it from Bob Dudek, but he didn't know the origin of it - it may have been acquired from Ebay. It is a fairly decent casting and the resin is a pale green. It fits the AMT ' 36 Ford kit.

It might be Mill City Replicas. I'm not sure but I thought he did a few trunkback Fords.

I hope you guys don't mind me cutting into this thread but I need some help. I'm trying to get in touch with Mill City Replicas. Is he still in business? If he is, might he be at your show? I'm looking for the 36 Ford Humpback body that he has sold in the past. I sent an email to the address I had but got a message "currently unavailable" Thanks for the help and have a good time at the show. From Connecticut, Gary

Gary, I haven't heard out of Mill City in years . I remember the body. The reason, a friend of mine was restoring a 1-1 1936 Ford for my old partner whom I owned a wrecker service with here . Ed Shaver

I've been in touch with Randy at Mill City Replicas, re: the 36 Ford Humpback Sedan, and he told me he is "still making the body" I need. My check is in the mail to him as of today, 11/26/10. Anybody got any thoughts on his products? Gary

I got some cab over trucks from him a few years ago. The cabs needed some work but were decent quality. I dont have any complaints about the service or items I bought.

I thought it might be a good idea to post and list some long out of production resin casting businesses and/or their products for future reference, as there were many interesting and unique items produced which may never again see the light of day, save for the secondary market.

Bad news as far as the intent of this thread, but good  news for modelers- Randy is casting these again, or at least was back at it quite recently.
