Built this one many years ago using the plans in MRRN. I used 0.010", 0.025", 0.040" styrene & 0.040" aluminium sheet. Decals are by Fred Cady. I have recently bought a Fisher Model & Pattern Chaparral 2F so I copied a set of fronts for the 2J. These have now replaced the Cox Chaparral 2 rear slot car wheels I previously used. Dash board is a little crowded but I'm loathe to pull it apart now, think I will have to live with it.

What a fabulous job you've done on that model!!!! It looks absolutely real and it's a great subject matter as well. To my eyes, that's magazine cover material.

Dave, What a Great representation of one of the Groundbreaking cars from Midland Texas. Ok you added a few extra gauges, heck I'll forgive ya!

Great replica of a historic car. IIRC this car rocked the establishment when it appeared at the track. Jim Hall was a true innovator.

I've always thought, because of all the straight panels this particular car had, it wouldn't be too hard too copy. I do not know if it WAS, but you did a hellava job on it Brother!!! It came out PERFECT!! you did a GREAT job on it!!!!

Fantastic job. I saw and heard this car run at the Monterey Historics a few years ago. You could hear the snowmobile fan motors for the entire lap no matter where you were standing around the circuit.

Top notch work there. I would not have guessed scratch built if you hadn't said something. :)

Tks guys, comments greatly appreciated. Ed, I thought I counted the guages & got the quantity right, depending on the pic. Problem is they are a little large. The correct front wheels was 'take 2' in correcting 'minor' issues. Who knows, when I retire (shortly!!) I may fix the dash.

Tks again

Dave you got it absolutely correct. Hasty reply by just looking at the area covered rather than the number, Sorry. Infact your's isn't far from Dash in the Mini Exotics 2J kit!

What a fantastic job of scratchbuilding! I've been a fan of this car since seeing it at Laguna Seca. Love the lexan skirts, i dont recall ever havng seen this important detail of the ( very few ) of these I've seen modeled.
