This is the Bates Mansion kit from Polar Lights.

Bought, and put this one together last summer. Finally got some paint on it. Still not sure how I'll display it yet.






Gave it a gray base coat, then covered it with the wood crackle. When dried I top coated with light ivory. Between the boards I just used a lead pencil to highlight them a bit. Then proceeded with the trim. Now it's onto the roof, and the base foundation.

I love this kit, and you are doing a great job with it. It will be a focal point on my HO scale layout (once I get all the junk out of my train room.

this is coming out great Junior. be pretty cool to have a diorama with the motel at the bottom and a dirt road leading up to the house like in the movie. and don't forget to have mama's shadow in the window.

The kit does come with a figure of Mama. However I was thinking something like this maybe.
