I'm glad Joe asked that question about the wheels and tires, because I was just about to! I've seen it done before, but I've never been able to get a straight answer as to why it's done that way.

well like i mentioned in my sss thread. this is part of an old Jap car culture. They had restrictions on the tyre widths they were allowed to run. They would have wide wheels and stretch the tyre over. They would also increase the camber to allow for wider wheels to fit under the arch.
