The late '70s/early 80s Trans Am annuals had them too. They're still in all the reissues of the silver anniversary T/As.

 

 

Are the Spyders in the T/A kits the narrow and wide variety, as found in the Duster kit?

 

IIRC the '72 GMC/Chevy pickup kits' Spyders are all the deep variety.

I think one of the '65 or '66 AMT Mustangs included a partial top like this, but it's hard to tell the top's shape from the underside view.

It is a custom part from a FoMoCo kit.
