There seems to be some interest in a trivia topic, so let's do it. I will post the first part, and once the correct answer is posted, the person who was first to answer correctly will post a new part, and the game continues

Here are the guidelines:

1) Please make sure you know which kit(s) the part is from.

2) Post a picture of ONE part from any 1/8-1/43 scale plastic model car or truck kit, and try to make it at least 600x600 pixels, so we can see it clearly and with good detail. Smaller is fine, as long as it's clear.

3) The part must not be modified (thinned, cut away from a larger part, dechromed, painted, etc.) from how it came when new.

4) Be sure you check in daily so that you can see if the correct answer is posted. If their is no posted reply within 48 hours from the person who posted the most recent part, we'll start with a new part. If nobody has guessed correctly within 48 hours, make a post and let people know, or...see #5.

5) Giving clues or hints is up the person posting the part, but hopefully nobody will get into kits which are extremely obscure. Everybody likes a challenge, but the goal is to ID the part, not prove you know more than anyone else.

6) If the part was used in multiple kits, with the only difference being the color the part was molded in, make sure you know all the possible kits the was included with...or chose a different part.

7) When you've posted the part, please CONFIRM a correct guess using the quote feature in your reply.

8) If you're the first person to guess correctly, please have a part ready to post within 48 hours. If you do not post a new part within 48 hours of a confirmed correct answer, I will post a new part to keep things moving along.

9) When guessing, please list the scale, year, manufacturer, make, model, and sub-model if necessary, or simply post a pic you think the kit came from. The same part may have been included in multiple kits, so there may be more than one correct answer in a few cases. Something like "1/25 AMT '57 Corvette Street Machine" would be a good answer.

EDIT-Nope, it's gotta be the Revell Shelby GT350R. I knew I've seen it somewhere but I just couldn't figure it out!

Grrr................I have this rear diff and even used it in a rat rod recently but I'll be darned if I can remember what kit it came from.

I've ruled out the '66 Malibus, '69 Camaro, and '56 Bel Air kits, but I get a "Tom Daniel early '70s Monogram" vibe from this part.

It is painted black, correct, and not the original plastic color anymore?

You are correct in that it is painted black and not the original color. Considering the hood hinge that won me this temporary position of power I figured that wsn't against the rules.
