Hah! Not me!! Wait until you see its companion piece, the AP with the cement mixers on the back! My colleague, Jeff Harper is working on that part.I can't tell you enough how cool I think this project is, and the execution is just great.
Now, who's going to scratchbuild the steam shovel?

You've really done some fantastic, inspiring work here, and should be incredibly proud of how it turned out.

A bit of a haul, Casey! We will be showing the trucks on a small diorama once Jeff gets his built. The only thing better would be if you take the model to Boulder Dam and take pics of it there.

Last October I mentioned that JeffH was working on his version of the Boulder Dam AP. Well here are some pix of his work. A lot of progress in a relatively short time. He's shooting for NNL East to display it. We expect to prepare a backdrop of the dam construction site to go along with both trucks.

Here is the beginning of the two mixers that will be on the back of Jeff's rig.

And a bit more progress on the drums.

Here's what the truck looks like with the mixers mounted.

Jeff borrowed my truck to take off some of the detailing. When Boulder Dam was built some of the dumps were converted to haulers for the mixers.

Very nice ! These old trucks fastinate me. I wish there were more kits available, but it seems that there are always unique versions such as these that some of us didn't even know existed. How could they possibly keep up, producing what we want? I wish I had the knowledge amd the skills needed to build such interesting replicas. Guess some of us will just have to experience these through your posts. Keep up the good work, and thanks for taking the time to share with us, because we know can be very time consuming.
