This particular model KW was built in 1938 for the US Forestry Service they were equipped with a 225hp Hall Scott engine and 4 speed tranny

This particular model KW was built in 1938 for the US Forestry Service they were equipped with a 225hp Hall Scott engine and 4 speed tranny



This is still on USFS property, Lolo National Forest, Ninemile Ranger District, Montana. It was converted to haul pack mules and has an aluminum bed on it. Engine and tranny still in place - it looks like you could crank start too! (hole in radiator to crank shaft pulley)

I just love that worn-off brush paint job! I've been trying to duplicate that in scale for years, with limited success so far. This truck's a perfect example of it.

That would look really cool restored, but I'll bet finding parts for a 1937 Kenworth 521 with a Hall-Scott engine would be a nightmare!

Nice looking truck. They had it going on back then, style-wise. Today's trucks don't compare.
