I have been updating the main web site over the past month or so.
I uploaded a new How-To video, on spraying Alclad II Chrome.
http://www.modelcarsmag.com/wp/how-to/
I will be uploading and doing more video how-to's in the near future.
It's a start, and I'm still learning along the way.
There is a major backend glitch with the site, I hope to get that cleared up soon.

One question Gregg.
I haven't used alclad yet and I noticed your using it straight from the bottle,Does it come premixed for airbrush or is it something you cut down?

Actually, it was hidden in one of Tony's video's on his web site. (sorry, I think it was http://alclad2.com/h...eo-instructions)
I have always wondered why I was getting such inconsistent results spraying Alclad II Chrome.
I was giving up on it.
But, I went through ALL of his video's and there it was, hidden in one of the last videos.
It comes ready to spray straight out of the bottle.
After these great results, I will be redoing the color base tests this weekend.
Also, low pressure is a must, 12-15 psi, at the most.
My Alclad article should be in the next issue of MCM, and I will post that final one when it pau

I have been wanting to get my hands on some of this for a wile now, the angle trick is something new I haven't herd of yet, but I'm wondering why you didn't base it in black first? Is that not true?

you should try it over medium metallic blue, thats a whole new kind of chrome. On you tube, there are some other videos using Vallejo black primer, as a base before the alclad base Black is applied. On those videos it appears as if you don't need let it dry long, before applying the chrome.

I did it over the Tamiya Grey Primer to show that it will work over anything, as long as the surface is perfect, glass smooth.
I will be doing the color variations this week.
I have used a dark blue before, but everything has been thrown out the window with that new "angle" of shooting Alclad!!!!
That was punny....

Thanks for the additional effort to help all of us master the holy grail of bottled chrome. Tried it over a deep purple with varied results. Surface preparation is the key.

THANK YOU!!! Seriously, I cannot thank you enough for that informative video. As soon as you said to always spray at an angle all the tumblers clicked into place. It made perfect sense and being a man with an analytical mind and fairly good powers of perception I can't believe I wasn't able to reason that out before this. I've been using Alclad for about a decade now with mixed results and today it all made sense. Thank you Gregg.

I would have to check that out.
I'm not sure if the Alclad would bite on the bare plastic
Probably have to wash it, Donn Yost, our paint guru, recommend the blue Dawn Dishwashing soap.

As long as you're at it, we have another current thread regarding a 77 Camaro where the OP is unfamiliar with photo hosting sites. I think we have a major need for a much more simplified tutorial on using Photobucket. The one we have is rambling, out of the best sequence and far too complex for new people to understand. Or at least we need to supply the best possible link to using PB in just a few steps, and I don't know what it would be. We don't need to go into detail here on the many variations that it can be used for. Just how to register, upload and post. The end.

I think I could make a very simple tutorial for your approval, but I'm on Mac and I would guess that 90% of our members are PC, which I don't know at all. I wouldn't want to do anything that wasn't totally cross-platform.

And no sooner have I posted this than the following new thread appears...

Gregg, I have a great and simple trick. Want to have the perfect anodized aluminum look? Shoot it over Testor's enamel semi gloss black. Simple as that!!!

This video will help a bunch.
