These cups would work well to store small items, mix down paint or washes, store weahtering powders and so on

........................ What we use now is the single dose medicine cups they run five or six bucks for a hundred they will hold lacquer paint all day without a problem. The other type of cup that I like using are the stainless steel condiment/prep cups they run a couple of bucks for a pack of 2 or 3 they last forever clean up really easy and will handle anything you put in them.
Where did you find those medicine cups? I have checked all the pharmacies, wal mart, and dollar stores around here for them and cannot find them.

Most any hobby shop with a good RC Airplane section should have these polypropylene (cloudy translucent plastic that is impervious to just about any paint or solvent we modelers are likely to use) in bulk packs. Chances are the polybag package header will say either K&B or Hobbico on them. Also check craft stores--these get used a lot in mixing clear polyester resin for clear resin cast craft projects. They're not very expensive either. and are the same little cups that hospitals use to bring pills to your bedside.

I found the stainless steel prep cups at Wally World in their kitchen department they were in a pack of two if I remember right. I use them for pinstriping and signwork so they would also be good for holding small amounts of paint either decanted or while brush painting.
If you need a cover for either try plastic wrap you can cut a small hole through it to minimize the overspray. You can also use it on your painted surface for some pretty cool effects, so I'm reasonably sure that it will not cause any fisheye or reaction issues. Not a long term storage solution.
Just came across something on ebay that I've seen in the local grocery store, plastic disposable shot glasses bit expensive for one time use but they will work.
Edited to add additional information.
