I have a build that I really don't like how it turned out. I may get in on this and give it a total rebuild. I'll post a photo of it later. Photobucket doesn't seem to be working ATM.
Cool Roger!
Looking forward to what you've got planned

I'm still in! Just haven't gotten much done on the Phaeton lately
Just follow this topic at the top right, or under 'your content' since you've posted in it. Then you won't lose it again

I´ll of course lose the Revell axle. It's mocked up on a chassis belonging to this one.

Which will have to wait a bit longer.

To get the stance I want with the AMT frame, it's going to have to be zeed. More like a new rear section of kickup actually. Marked the position of the axle centerline on the body, then drew in rails that would give me clearance over them for the axle tubes and spring ends.

Made a pair of rail ends....

....glued them on....

..... and hogged out the center of the old blobular bit. I'm leaving the rear stuff in place for strength while I re-work the sides of the rails.

Next trick is to widen the frame so it fits the body like it's s'posed to. It's WAY too narrow in order to clear the fender unit when it's used.

The rails are supposed to look like this relative to the body.
