cobraman
Someone stole the middle of my van !! I guess I will just have to run with it. I sectioned about a scale 6" out of the middle. The rear windows will be blanked out. I cut a slice in the body for the rear roof spoiler. I have a couple other ideas but till I decide I will keep them to myself. Thanks for looking. Randy D
Hi Ray, You are hard to keep up with all these builds :) Looking foward to what you come up with! Nice work on removing the middle section. Randy

cobraman
Gee, now look what happened. First someone cut the middle out of my van and now they drilled a bunch of holes in it. I would'nt be surprised if the next thing they did was to mount the flares and start slinging some putty. See ya next time. Thanks for looking . Custom Mike
Ray, I think the sun out there has fried your brain....QIUCK- go stand outside some more! This looks to be one cool van, I can't wait to see what you do with the rest of it! Edited September 22, 2012 by Custom Mike
cobraman
Thanks Mike. It is rather warm out here. I think I have a cool plan for this van but my problem is that I can always dream up something cool but don't have the skills to make the picture in my mind come out the same. But ya gotta keep trying right ?
Casey
I wonder if it will be mid-engined and SOHC-powered?...at least we know it will be running mechanical fuel injection.

W-409
This is going to be cool! Lots of work, but I'm sure you will do great job with this one. Start looks good already, actually I like the look of Sectioned Van.
Jantrix
Slung some putty on the van yesterday. I think I am going to need more putty.......and sandpaper ! Ray. Another method for filling the section gap is by using very thin styrene rod and Tenax liquid cement. It melts the plastic rod into the gap and effectively welds the parts together. Then you just sand down the rod and then check for bad spots. You'll use a tenth of the filler you are using now.
cobraman
Thanks Rob. Thats a great tip. Where the heck were you 2 days ago ! : )
Gluhead
Yep, what he said. I've come to use putty only as an absolute last resort. Plastic makes a much better filler.
cobraman
I will for sure try that on my next slice and dice project. Thanks Gluhead. I kind have a feeling my project may not turn out the way I have planned in my mind.

cobraman
Got some time to work on the van. Couple putty and sanding sessions. Van is close to being painted. ( I hope ) From these photos you can get a good idea of how much was sliced from the middle of the van. The custom grill from the kit was cut just about in half and should work out pretty good. Thanks for looking.

cobraman
Thanks, still lots to do and I am starting to get tired of this thing. Plans were to have full engine and interior but have changed my mind and will make it more of a slammer. You wouldn't be able to see the engine anyway so it will only have a partial engine that will show from the bottom. I am going to black out the windows and add some side trim to make a breaking point for a 2 tone paint job.
Dr. Cranky
I'm really liking where this is headed, and I can't wait for more progress.
