The only problem I see is, a tire molded in white - painted black , how would a builder replicate a used tread surface ? essentially to make it look , used ?

Easy, just drybrush the tread. I have also airbrushed a lighter shade across the tread, then applied a wash to the tread to make the pattern pop. Military modelers have these techniques down to a science.

I'm definitely on the white resin side of the fence. Knocking the black off the letters works very well. I'd be a happy camper if the kit companies adopted this practice, too.

I think a 275-60 would be great to have along with the 235.

Again, nice, clean work. I look forward to seeing some cast and painted pieces mocked up on a car.

The fat 295 tire is almost done. Been busy with stock orders this week and getting another little project for my GTO models out of the way. One of these days after I finish making all these parts for my project, I might actually build the models.

Love that PE tread detail! My 1:1 Manx buggy has 275/50-15s BFGs on the rear and 225/60-14s on the front.....count me as a big 'YES' on a set of bigs & littles.

I love these! I will definitely be grabbing up a couple sets. Another way to make the tread surface look used could be to paint them thick, then lightly scuff with 3000 grit. The heavy paint would fill the gaps lightly and give the impression of a heavily used tire.

Multiple sets here!(295/50's) Traction bars get ready!!! All fender flares report to battle stations!!!
Keep that ratio small, a true 50 will be sweet. If you err/engineer on the side of small, you'll catch a lot of the "smaller" wheels and if needed, it won't be to hard to open up the tire a little to fit the "normal" size wheels.

I finished the fat version of the BFG T/A this afternoon. Waiting on a shipment of Smooth-On items to start the molds, and I anticipate getting things into production early next week. But I'll be out of town for a whole week right in the middle of the month, so my production will be sort of slow. When I figure out the pricing and packaging options, I'll post all the information on my website.

Very nice tire and a cool idea about molding it in white.

I would suggest in addition to bigger tires, perhaps doing some smaller ones, too, like narrow/high profile 15" and 14" tires, which will fit a lot of cars.

I have started production on these tires, both in hard white resin and flexible black rubber:


I want to build up a good stock before I start selling them, so please bear with me. The rubber version is very slow to produce due to the cure time of the material.

I would say that based on the comments here, you will never have enough of these in stock to meet demand! Those are very nice and I will be ordering multiple sets!
