Being a NON-rivit counter, i used the intake and carbs from the newer Revell Merc. You have to shorten the generator though, it hits the carbs.
Considering that the Revell '49 Merc comes with a 50's Cadillac OHV V8, Cadillac and Olds used essentially the same basic layout of intake manifolds and cylinder head porting, so in model form, that's a parts swap that should work pretty convincingly.

Actually, the Olds has a large water-crossover in front of the front port-runners (the Caddy has a different configuration) and looks rather different from the Caddy manifold. The 3-two-barrel manifold in the AMT '40 FordTudor sedan kit, for the Olds engine option in that kit, fits the new-release Revell Olds engine perfectly, and has the correct water crossover, if anyone's interested.

The red manifold has the water-crossover first, with the upper water-hose neck (the nub next to the oil filler tube), then the front port-runners, then the heat-riser portion on the manifold, then the rear port runners.
