To fellow Canadian truck modelers, I;m finally getting back into the hobby leaving the road for a local job,but with the news of Dennis closing up model express soon. I'm looking for a alternatives to model express, thought of shopping the us sites but not sure if they send to the great white north and if the duties make it very costly,

I understand that someone will be taking over Dennis' business after year end. I;d imagine there may be a bit of lag time while the new person gets set up, and hopefully, the new owner will continue to provide the fair prices and top notch service that Model Express is so well known for. There is a local hobby shop that I can give you the contact info for and his prices seem pretty reasonable and he does mail order. PM me if you want the information. Just too clarify, I am not affiliated with that shop in any way other than as a customer and a fellow model nut just trying to help.

Model express is closing for sure. The guy that was surpose to take over changed his mind. Thats whats on Dennis site right now.

JW, have you tried Elm City Hobbies in New Brunswick: http://www.elmcityhobbies.com/shop/? Then there's always Doug Walker of Doug's Scale Truck Replicas http://www.dougsscal....com/index.html). He's out of Victoria, BC; and he does decals & resin parts. I have some of his decals, and they are quite nice.

I've heard good things about these guys: http://www.scalehobbyist.com/index.php Ok, they're not from Canada; they're from New Hampshire. But they sell trucks!

I used to deal with Dennis, too...Real nice guy...I've been going to http://www.plastic-models.com or http://www.megahobby.com or http://www.stsmodeltrucks.com for all my model truck needs...Plastic models and Megahobby have shipping specials all the time...You may be able to get them to go to Canada, too...I've checked the sites mentioned, earlier, but I think these might have better deals...

i use megahobby all the time, Mainly cause its in the same state as me So i only have to wait a day or 2
