The instructions are not really clear do the long hinges go on the bottom? Anybody have suggestions or hints on ways to mount these easier?

If you are talking about the door hinges, yes. Due to the shapes of the cab and doors, the lower hinges of the doors are longer (stick out farther from the sheet metal surface) than the hinges which are right at the belt line molding.
