If i spray a metallic silver then spray red will i end upnwith a metallic red?

If the red is transparent (Candy Red) you will get a deep metallic red when sprayed over silver, but if it's an opaque red then the silver will have no effect at all.

I have kylon apple red and krylon metallic silver. Should i not even bother and just do a plain red?

You can test it on a white plastic spoon and see what happens.
