Has anyone here kitbashed the vintage Revell '69/'70 Mustang Grande kit/body with the more recent Revell Super Corba Jet/Mach 1 '69 Sportsroof kit? I recall reading the angle of the forward slanting grille/nose on the newer SCJ kit isn't correct, and was curious if the Grande kit's grille/nose is correct, or at least closer to correct?

The Grande looks very '60s in detail (which is to say, not great), and I think the newer '69 SCJ was well received from what I remember, so combining the best of both might be worth a shot.

You probably could "marry" the requisite panels together from both kits, but it likely will take some serious massaging to get the whole package to look right. Bear in mind, Revell didn't do all that good a job doing the tooling mockup of that Mustang Grande, so there likely are some issues making blending the two body shells together--that does not mean all is lost though! This is were RESEARCH, RESEARCH, and MORE RESEARCH comes in! (take that from someone who's done a bunch of kit-bashed conversions over the past 40+ years.)
