Can the wrecker bed from the Revell Scania (Kit shown below) be used on an American (driven) tractor, say a Volvo VN 780 or the International Lonestar? Thanks for any info you can provide.

It can Joe. Revell AG trucks , for the most part, are just reboxed Italeri kits, and Italeri has used that bed on many US trucks. Of just a few I remember is the Ford LTL 9000 and Western Star 4300 "LA Fire", and I'm sure there are more.

That's what I was wondering. I could build the Scania as is but I guess I am a location snob & would prefer to build things from my area of the world when possible :)

There are a few companies in my area that use a unit similar to the Italeri kit, it just seems to depend on what the job is. If the vehicle to be towed is on a flat surface and isn't damaged a unit like this can grab it and go pretty easily, on the other hand, if it is a recovery of a wrecked or overturned truck you still need the big rotator rig with all the winching and pulling capabilities.

I built the Western Star model, and it was a fun build, but when it was done, I wasn't very impressed with it. That Scania looks like it would be much more impressive.
