Art and Bryan, I ended up using the gasser frame and components because I wanted to keep it as stock as humanly possible, but I am going to gizmo-engineer a way of dropping the whole frame a few scale inches so that there's a bit more tire clearance. The shocks would be very easy to scratch-build in this case in case someone is thinking of doing one of their own. I just used the stock parts because I like them.

Once again, all this proves the amazing versatility of the 41 Willys. If I could, I would keep a few dozen in stock always. It's the kit I am going to be using when I turn the 62 Corvette into a gasser. Don't blame me for the madness, blame Donn Yost. It's his fault! LOL!

Okay, here's some . . . I've been using my iPhone camera out of laziness . . .

I'm very excited because I was able to lift the boddy for tire clearance without having to raise the engine . . . which is very cool, I think.

This frame really give this build it's attitude as well as it's stability . . . I tell you I am IN LOVE with this kit. Revell hit a GRANDSLAM with this one for sure.

As you can see, I've built a roll cage a little different than what comes in the kit just for a little variety. I've also been working on the engine with some aluminum parts and big cars from MCG.




We are getting close to primer now . . .

Getting everything ready now for primer and then paint. If only I'd get better weather, but I am going to shoot the primer no matter what tomorrow.

Granted , I'm usually a suspect and rightfully so ! However , I had nothing to do with this one . Given the wildness of the subject matter , this has Cranky's DNA alllllllll over it , not mine !

Now , the aforementioned ' Vette Gasser ? Welllll , I plead the fifth on that one ! Oh by the way ! Virgil ? Big blown Hemi's require lottsa motor detail , lots and lots of it ! Hehehehe !

Yeah, I knew you were going to say that, and I am going to put lots of detail on this one. The way I am imagining it, this vehicle belong to a crazy Mad Scientist doctor (ahem, ahem) who got it and restored it, of course he started with a big hemi engine, pretty new all around, then he painted the body and made it shiny and put everything on a frame and chassis that will eventually need to be restored. The wheels are getting weathered in preparation for the chassis which I paint tomorrow.

This one is coming along rather slow, but I am relishing this build. How could I not, it's a 41 Willys.
