MPC - the recent re-release of the funny car version may be a decent start as well

There are the 1/25 MPC kits, hardtop/Funny Car and convertible:

The forthcoming (maybe already out?) MPC '69 GTO "The Judge" Funny Car can't be built stock.
More pics and some info on GTO kits here: http://ultimategto.com/modbox5.htm

As far as a factory stock type build,. I think the one and only 1/25th scale is the original issue . But I'm not a pontiac guy so I could be wrong.
If there is, I would like to have one and builders pop up on ebay from time to time . They are not of my must have list yet so I haven't been looking to hard .
I just did a search and found this if it's of interest ( I'm just passing it on - as it's not mine nor do I know the seller )

I do know the 1970 GTO was re-issued( I have one here) and the re-issued 1972 GTO is super easy to come up wit

The last issue of the funnycar body is 100% stock and even still has the emblems and door handles molded in. I'd assume the reissue will be the same.
The Monogram 1/24 interior tub can be adapted pretty easily. Hardest part would be taking about 1/4 inch out of the height [off the bottom] so a chassis will fit up under. Missing Link used to cast a direct copy of the MPC interior bucket, maybe they'll cast it again when the funnycar is re-released.
You could use the chassis from the '72 GTO if you like, it's almost exactly the same as the original '69 peice or you could use a different '68-'72 GM A-body chassis, there's a couple much better ones out there now.
I picked up an original MPC '68 a few months ago and I'll be using an AMT '69 Olds 442 chassis under it.
Oh, I should add that the funnycar body has the hood molded closed but it's pretty easy to cut open.
