Most of you have seen the MOPAR police wheels Kevin and I have been making. We've been dabbling with alot of stuff and have started to wonder. Is there an aftermarket company that specialises in just MOPAR parts? That's the direction we think we want to go.

There is nothing wrong with any other make or model, but we've always been fans of MOPAR, and were wondering, if there isn't an aftermarket devoted solely to Dodge and Plymouth (you thought I was gonna say MOPAR again...didn'tcha?) musclecars then that's what we would become.

What do all of you think?

Great idea...I wish you the best of luck!! Besides the cop car rims...are you thinking of casting engine dress up parts (air cleaners and valve covers, Edelebrock intakes)...or are you gonna surprise everyone??? Either way..be waiting to see what ya come out with!

:D Good lord Bill, that's like asking a starving man which end of the buffet he wants to start on. I'll get a list together of what we'll be starting with but for now...we're taking suggestions. ;)

That's pretty much where we're headed. We thought about the Ross Gibson approach, and believe me mega respect to him for his engine designs as well as the quality of his stuff! What we decided in the end though was more of a Summit racing kind of approach. Need a set of valve covers? We gotem. Need a complete ball-stud HEMI? Let's put together a package that's affordable to the builder.

Rat Roaster style intake for a 426 Hemi

Six pack scoop style hood 1970-74 Barracuda AND 1970-74 Challenger. Question here would be, make it fit the current AMT/MPC variants of each OR (on the Barracuda ) version wait till the new Revell Cuda comes out ?????? not sure of the answer on this one. I'm aware of the rumors the 2nd issue of the Revell 1970 Cuda is going to be a Sox+Martin car , if so It SHOULD have this hood .

Modify the current AMT 1968 Roadrunner to make a 1968 GTX
Modify the current Revell 1967 GTX to make a 1966 Satellite +/or Belvedere
A corrected Revell 1967 Coronet body ,
Modify the corrected Revell 1967 Coronet body to make a 1967 Coronet R/T Conv conversion pkg.

edit for a pic

Go for it, I'll have 1 of those ball stud HEMI's, MOPAR performance valve covers wouldn't go astray either.

I've been wanting to see this for decades !!!
Like you , I enjoy all makes and models ; also like you , I've been disappointed with the lack of aftermarket parts for Mopars.

Suggestions :

AMT 1971 Duster 340 :
- Bench seat
- non a/c arrangement
- 1972 conversion
- brake booster
- base interior trim

AMT 1971 Charger :
- Six Pack induction
- non a/c arrangement
- Dana 60
- Ramcharger hood
- sport racing mirrors
- 1972 Rallye conversion

Revell 1968-1969 Dart :
- 4 speed console & shifter
- drum brake master cylinder

"Generic" :
- Tuff-Grip steering wheel
- ECU box
- 7-paddle fan with clutch
- ThermoQuad
- Direct Connection valve covers , air cleaner , etc.
- 1971-1974 cassette player / microphone
- Fenderwell headers

I'm sure there's more to think of , but I gotta get to work right now !

Awesome idea guys! I'm glad you are doing this. I too am a die hard Mopar fan, although I build all types of American cars. In the 1:1 world, it's Mopar or nocar. I agree with 1972Coronet's list above, for some much needed stuff. Of course I am a fan of 4 doors, wagons, bench seats, full wheel covers and stuff like that, but I sure could use some of the stuff you guys are thinking of doing.

I see lot of great ideas listed and like most any Mopar guy we all have a passion for them , I know asking or suggesting is a lot easier said than done and I agree with the above post on the bench seat thing, but would be nice to be able to do conversion like making and sixes or seventies RT to a plain Coronet or a Roadrunner to a plain Satellite with a simple and complete conversion kit. Something else I haven't seen is a wide block 318 used in early 66 and older Dodge and Plymouth's but this is just my two cents.

More ideas :

AMT 1971 Duster :
- 1970 conversion ( i.e. , grille and interior appt's ; AVS carb can be sourced elsewhere)
- B/RB "K" Member ( okay , minute perhaps ... )

MPC 1977/1978 Monaco ( A/K/A "Roscoe's Police Cruiser" , et al. ) :
- 1971 Coronet conversion ( front and rear clips , "bar"-style speedometre )
- 1971 Satellite conversion
- "correct" spotlights

Revell 1971 GTX :
- 1972 conversion
- Satellite / Road Runner interior with bench seat
- Dana 60
- single four barrel induction ( manifold , Holley carb , air cleaner )

More "Generic" :
- 1970-1980 air cleaner ( with separate snorkles for multiple applications )
- 1971 Plymouth 14" deluxe wheel covers ( e.g. , the ones on the Valiant in "Duel" )

I should note that I would also like to see any lighting (tail lights especially) cast clear , not coloured .

WoW! Lots of great suggestions. One thing I must say up front. BODIES- It will be a while. Right now we are looking at six months to a year before any bodies are done. That's just our current target. If things go well and we can get to that sooner we definitely will. To start though, the bulk of our items will be geared toward usage with what's already out there. We do however have some sweet vintage kits in the stash to work with though and are all for getting some conversions done. The main issue is the cost involved in the volume of silicone necesary to do a full body cast in 1/25th.

As for taillights? That has always bothered me as well. In the case of say, a 1971-4 Charger or Roadrunner, the backup lens is part of the taillight. It's alot easier to detail them starting out with clear than red.

I've also been watching the tire thread in "general" and have a few ideas there as well. ;)

That's right ! We've had this conversation before :D .

YES !! I'd like to see some more Redlines , Bluelines and Whitewalls ; the old MPC and Jo-Han tyres . More Muscle Cars left the factory with these types than Raised White Letter tyres .

Second the motion for a GOOD poly-head 318. An LA 2-barrel intake/carb/aircleaner would be nice, too, for those of us wishing to build 273s and 318s in their most common iterations.

Good luck with this.

for my 2 cents worth I'd rather see parts that could be used on many models verses a single year part, the fleet wheels are a great start and agree on the DC/MP maybe Indy valve covers, air cleaners, stuff like that,BTW the 71 Duster seat thats mentioned a couple times is already out there as is the 70 grille

I really like this idea.

Some of my suggestions would be:

8-3/4 rear end
727 Torqueflite (I know other offer this, but it seems essential to any Mopar offerings)
Moroso valve covers (It seems every resin caster offers these, but they are all for big block Chevy's, so a Mopar version would be great)

I agree on most accounts. AFXNScale has the stock Duster grille avail. And parts that fit multiple offerings are good for sellers, ( optimizes cash flow) not always good for buyers. Myself I tend to gravitate more towards model/make/year specific items to fill my needs. But I rarely do factory stock builds so my opinion may be slightly asqued one way or another.

and if your referring to the Harts Parts Resin Duster bench seat ? it is NOT correct It has WAY to big of a gap in the center of the backrest portion
