Vaughn Hart has a site that is all Dogde/Plymouth also. He offers conversion kits for the 71 Charger to make it a Super Bee with the proper hood and tailights, the 71 duster bench seat, and other bench seats 67 thru 69 i believe, plus all sorts of little stuff like Valve covers an things of that nature.

Do you have a link/info for him?

Chris

John, are you talking bathtub intake as in the General Lee kit and Street Charger? I never knew there was a 340 version.

I think that I may have misspoke when I mentioned a 340 --or LA engine family-- version ; I'm thinking of the crossram intake ( "STR" series , or something like that .)

RS.SS.Chris provided pics of the intake I'm referring to ; and in the meantime , I'm gonna troll the net for the small block induction systems .

STR-12-6 for "RB" engines ( 413W , 426W and 440 ).

Bill, where did you get the tail light assembly./trunk trim from for this GTX?

It's all scratchbuilt - with strip streyne and a small photoetched GTX emblem. Then the body side GTX emblems on the quarters are plastic shaved off the monogram 1970 GTX then glue to this body and bare metal foiled

It's far from perfect but considering this one done at least 10 years on a whim I think it turned out ok

It's been sitting exactly like this ever since as I wanted to make a correct 68 GTX grille and interior and lost interest in it

Gentlemen,

It's been an interesting week to say the least. We laid a family member to rest and got Kevin moved into his own place. Jen and I loved having him here in our home with us, it's just we like him being in his OWN place better. :D

We did get a few moments here and there to discuss plans and such for this endeavour. Here's what we've come up with. The first thing we discovered is that every name we come up with we both hate. So we put that on the back burner for the moment.

What we have going right now are a few sets of wheels, some of which are all the way MOPAR and some are just "commonly seen on..." These are the 1970's Police Wheels, Appliance Apache wheels, slotted dish and 1960's steelies standard and wide. I have a thing for custom wheels, and while there will probably be very few pro-touring style wheels, I like the variant styles of both stock and specialty MOPAR wheels as well as wheel covers and hubcaps (and no...they aren't the same thing...I know right?).

We're getting ready to do our first two engines. The first will be a street stock 340 grocery getter. The other is a slant sixer. As a teen I was always impressed with the sixer's, especially when they were hooked up in a Dart or Duster. Each will be available as a complete engine. Once I have those worked out then I start getting new masters going for those two engines. The first change I personally want to make to the 340 is the intake. I seem to remember the Jo-Hann Sox-N-Martin 'Cuda had ann Edelbrock high riser set up for dual quads and a set of tuned headers. I always loved that intake. As we go obviously more engines will be added as well as more plug and play kinda parts.

We've also got some NASCAR MOPAR mini models coming soon as well as parts for early seventies Chargers and Roadrunners. Alot of these will include things like taillights. Many of you have expressed the desire to have taillights cast clear. Others have actually expressed a preference for the cast in red lights of the kits. That's cool too. What we have decided about the taillights was simple. Those of you who have already gotten wheels from me, were given a choice. White resin or black? You know how I make black resin? I add black dye to the white resin. No mean trick. It's the same with the clear resin. Either I add red dye...or I don't. When you get a taillight set fom me just say up front which way you want it. I will even be happy to do custom tinting. Do I have a replacement window available you need? Want it tinted blue? Okay. :)

Offbeat parts. Alot of casters will look at an offbeat part like a year/make/model specific bench seat, and say there's no market. If the upholstery style and overall design doesn't lend itself to several different applications over a specific period it will most likely be ignored. This is not to crush anyone's hope of getting that specific part for their project. We will do custom work so feel free to contact us about that.

Hopefully our talents will allow us to take this as far as the Holthauses and many other caster's and one day in the near future we'll be doing complete or near complete resin kits. Our main focus will of course be MOPAR's in 1/25th-24th but we will be working up some 1/16th as well. Along the way we'll be reaching out to some of you for technichal advise in specific areas. If you are spotted hanging out in the Drag Racing section alot we might tap you for info on a parachute system or blower setup. If we spot you as having alot of knowledge of mid sixties wagons? We might just need your two cents.

With the holliday season here, it will obviously be slow going setting up for this so don't expect much until after Christmas. I've also had an idea (let me know if you like this) of making a blog about the whole process of setup and getting organised, and have it coincide. Let me know what you think guys.

While I think trans-kits and full kits are nice aspirations, it's the little things that will get you going. People are more likely to spend $15 before $55, or more. Also, if the plan is a "Summit" type of parts selection, don't alienate other brands. A nice MSD ignition system (6AL box, Blaster coil, small & HEI cap distributors, wires) would be a good cross-over part for other brands, along with Holley pumps & remote filters, Optima batteries, traction bars, ladder bars, Flowmasters, driveshaft loops, and X pipes. There's so much aftermarket 1:1 stuff we don't have.... But we're talking Mopar-specific here, right?

So .... How about the above mentioned Edelbrock manifolds (the SRT-12 is a grail amongst MopRites...) Alterkation rack & pinion/coil over set-up, correct factory Dog Dish caps for the various years and divisions, head rests, consoles, Dana 60's, A-833 4 spds. Mopar Performance valve covers and air cleaners. And while we're suggesting, how about some Direct Connection stuff? The DC valve covers are desirable too. Or maybe sub-frame connectors.... Cal-Tracs.....trunk mount battery kits, and everything else I forgot.

Very cool direction. I wish you the best, with the right parts you could definitely fill a niche. And if you add 1/16 and/or die-cast friendly 1/18 and you might be on to something here.
