There's something going on when the --->  :D  is used in Personal Messages, too. When I use that emoticon in the body of a message, everything I type after that disappears after I hit the "Reply" button.

Yesterday, my attempt to use a smiley showed up while composing, but turned into keystrokes when I posted   :P

Just now, I typed the keystrokes and it shows the smiley. Go figure.

Did you use the "teethy" smiling emoticon? I noticed that emoticon tends to wipe out things which appear after it sometimes, but not every time.

I think it's this emoticon, right? :D   If so, that would be an important clue.

Yes, that's the suspect.

Not sure why but I can't upload photos from the new photobucket.  I get an error message when I try to post telling me I can't use the image on this site.

Let's see if this shows up......

We were having problems this morning. The very existence of this post indicates that they're fixed. And all before my first cup of coffee.

Sorry about that. Database corruption problems again. Wish I knew what was causing that. You should go eyeball your recent posts. One of them may be corrupted or missing.

Things appearing after the  :D  seem to be working now. Thanks, Dave.

Sorry to be a pain, but I am still getting "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community" icon when I try to post pictures now that photobucket has changed.  Not sure if everyone is having issues or if it is just me, but hopefully there is an easy solution.

Which image extension is at the end of the photo? .jpg, .gif, .psd, or???

Okay, when the database was a little wonked up and I couldn't post I switched to the mobile version to see if I could post that way. It had the advantage of actually returning the database error but now I can't get it to switch back. Thoughts?

I have a windows 7 operating system. I just wiped my computer's memory and it's working with this site better than it has in months. Just wanted to say so for all you guys that keep yelling "Oh, you have to update your browser!" "You have to keep your computer up to date" NO, you don't. For whatever reason, maybe the site's heuristics aren't up to date I don't know, but the only thing site problems seem to have to do with updating personal systems is that they work worse with the updates. So there. As Stan Laurel would say, "I said it and i'm glad I said it!"

If you're viewing the forum on the Mobile version and can't switch back to the Full version, I think you need to PM Dave A and he can fix it. Others did the same thing and IIRC he had to fix it manually.
