I still can't figure out how to post new photos. Is there a reason the image button doesn't work anymore ? Like others have said the screen just goes gray.

It works perfectly for me:

bexample8.gif

What are you entering into the blank space when you get the Image Properties and URL pop-up window, after clicking on the green tree/image icon?

For the record, my PC runs Windows XP and Google Chrome, and the MacBook is running OS?? and Google Chrome, and I don't have any issues on the forum with either setup. Ditto for my Samsung Windows-based phone- no issues browsing the forum at all.

Test

Trying to paste in a sharing Journal code from Fotki for the following image (as recommended by Fotki support), then I get the pop-up from this site:

Attached File  Picture 4.png   108.24K   15 downloads

Attached File  Picture 5.png   54.05K   14 downloads

These thumbnails appear here via this forum's attachment feature.

I still get the little green box at the top of a reply when I try to post, it just keeps blinking and won't allow it to post. I actually have to get out of the thread and post my reply again. The second time I try it works, but this junk is REALLY becomeing annoying. and it's NOT my computer, it's this site! Can SOMEONE PLEEEEEZE straighten this out cas it REALLY is getting to be a drag! Takes the fun out of even TRYING to participate or help a fellow member. It really sucks!!!!!  <_<

Can you just copy the fotki image link for forums, and paste it in the body of your message where you want the image to appear, instead of clicking on the image icon and adding the link to your post that way?

Here's one of your fotki images, and copying, then pasting, the "Code for forums":

I always remove the extra "Hosted by fotki" tag at the end of every fotki link, which I did above, but I think it's much easier to copy and paste a "Code for forums" link than to use the image icon here.

I hope that IF AND WHEN the problems get fixed properly that one of the "powers that be" will be kind enough to somehow announce it FOR ALL TO KNOW so us "peons" will be able to get back to posting things and pictures as we did before all this messed up stuff started.

I for one, will NOT be trying to post any long posts or pictures until I get "the good word".  I'm not going to go through what I did previously in composing a WIP post with many pictures only to have it disappear to sock land again.

Fellas, I just spent the last hour or so doing a lengthy post on my '59 Impala. All of the pics came from Fotki, and I've had no trouble getting them to post. One method I found that works well with Fotki, is the "Drag and Drop" method for posting pics. You'll need to have two windows (or tabs) open to do this, but I find this way a lot easier than copying and pasting the URL of particular pictures on to a post.

Now one complaint I do have however.............How come one can no longer edit the original title of their post??

Strange indeed! I was able to change the title in my Impala WIP------from my iPhone! Yet, I couldn't do it from my desktop. I can edit it from my laptop though if I wanted, so maybe it's an issue with the browser on the PC. I have all the latest updates however........

Go figure!

Something Happened to Model Cars Forums... In the last week, I can't access BOLD, Italics, Happy Faces or any other changes to the text when I post Replies or New Posts here. Many times it takes 2 or 3 times to upload photos. Did I miss something???

I'm having the same problem on my home computer, and its not just with this messageboard so its a bit of an odd problem. I don't have any issues on my work computer and they're both running Windows 7 and the latest version of Chrome.

I have had many of the problems listed above when using photo hosting sites, but now I get around it simply by clicking on "More Reply Options." This gives me a posting window with the "Attach Files" feature, that works just like e-mail by letting me upload images from my computer.

Also, when that little green box keeps blinking after I hit Post, I often find that even if it still keeps blinking and I reload the page, it will have been posted.

Seems like everyone has different experiences with similar problems.

I don't know if this is a new forum feature, or if I just never noticed it until the last few weeks, but I see there is now an "auto-saver" which appears at the bottom grey band of the reply box like so:

This seems to appear when I'm taking more than a few minutes to compose a post, and I notice Adobe Flash player seems to be tied into this feature somehow.

I'm still having these issues even when not posting photos.

I sent a PM to Dave yesterday about this same problem. Tool bar is no longer there to post pictures, smiley, or other options. "Reply to this topic" is now only at the top of the page. All I can do from here is this.
