Test post.   I am posting this from Google Chrome.   Using my normal Internet Explorer 9,  I cannot get the pull down menu in the "Reply to this topic" frame.  It shows up in Google Chrome.

I also notice that I'm not getting paragraphs as I type them in Explorer.  All the text just merges into one without even line endings.

This post should have three paragraphs. Let's see if it works in Chrome.

OK. I don't have a clue what is going on with either this site or my computer, but I need someone's expertise (and please, no smart a_ _ responses. If you can't help- walk away). In order to fix a previous problem I was having it was suggested that I update Firefox. I did that and now half of the things that were available before are gone. I don't know if it is from an update that this site did or from my updating FF but now I can no longer see anything but people's screen names for info. Did we do away with the real names and peoples locations that used to show up under our screen names? I used to be able to choose between "Full Version" and "Mobile Version" at the bottom of the screen. Now it says "Full Version" but when I click on it it doesn't change. Lastly, from my phone, whenever I am typing a reply to a topic, if I have a typo and I backspace more than twice, my entire reply is deleted as if I backspaced all the way. That is extremely annoying.
This is just a couple of the issues I'm having. I am OBVIOUSLY not computer literate like most and I don't have much hair left to pull out. Can anyone tell me what may be wrong? Can anyone tell me how to Uninstall the latest version of FireFox? I'm not sure if that is the problem, but all of this seemed to have started for me when I did that. As always, their help line is the farthest thing from that. I'm not sure if uninstalling it would help. Is there any way to go back to what this site looked like three months ago? I'm not trying to complain about the updates the guys have made to the site. I just seem to be having some difficulties with it that I can't iron out and I'm at my limit.

The forum looks exactly the same on my PC and MacBook as it has for months- same names and locations under the avatar pics, etc.

Are you using the Firefox web browser on a PC/laptop? I am running Google Chrome for a web browser on both the PC and MacBook with no issues. I suggest you try it, but I won't/can't guarantee it will help things or make your web browsing any better.

Are you trying to switch between "IP.Board" and "IP.Board Mobile" under the "Change Theme" tab, found on the lower left of the forum template, when you are NOT on a mobile device/tablet?? I've never tried to switch to the "IP.Board Mobile" version when on my PC/MacBookm and I;m not about to try, but I have tried both settings on my HTC phone and found the Mobile version works a bit better, though it is simplified. Again, not sure how that works with an iPhone, though.

I think you are using an iPhone for a mobile device, correct? There are a few topics here on the forum about the iPhone and the forum software and how they play together, but not having an iPhone, I can't add much more than that.

Casey-

I am using both my iphone and my laptop. I used to be able to switch between full and mobile on my phone and I preferred the mobile setting. Now I have a button at the bottom of my phone screen that says "full version" but selecting it does nothing. On my laptop I used to see everyone's info but now I can only see screen names. On my laptop on the main page of the forum it used to have the area at the bottom that listed all of the current members online and all that jazz. That is all gone now. Too, I can't get to the right side area to delete my private conversations like I used to. So now they are piling up. Now there is just the list of sections(general, workbench, trade, wanted etc) My wife says that she thinks that it may have been caused by an update of Google Chrome? I'll try checking out that post about iphones. Thanks

There are some major issues out there in cyber-land. Most involve Java or the latest version of Firefox. I found a lot of these issues came up with streaming video and upload / download of data.

I am trying Chrome again, it has eliminated the issues, but Google knows a lot more about me now. I am not sure that it is any better than IE, but the Java issues are still worrisome to me .

Dave could you post here what this server is optimized for ? If we all use different browsers, we will have different issues. I have zero issues on this site, so that makes me wonder.

Did the upload size of the photos change on the forum or am I having troubles on my end. I went to upload some photos and it says they are to big to upload. They're the same size of all the others I've uploaded so I don't know if it's a glitch on my end or not? Has anybody else had or having this going on?? Thanks for the help everyone!!! I'll try again later too.

<p>Here's how I reply in a post, using the Attachment feature here to insert images, without a photo hosting service.&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>I click on the More Reply Options button at the bottom right of the reply box. That gives me a box with all the bells and whistles you see in the first image below.&nbsp;[CLICK IMAGES TO ENLARGE]. &nbsp;Check the numbered call-outs in the image to refer to the list below.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="color:#ff0000;">1</span>. I type in my text. I then hit return a couple of times for placing the image below the text.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="color:#ff0000;">2</span>. To get an image from my computer, I click on Choose Image. I then get a box that allows me to find the image on my computer. I click on ithe desired image file as listed and hit the choose button. The file name appears to the right of &quot;Attach this File.&quot;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="color:#ff0000;">3.</span> I click on Attach This File.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="color:#ff0000;">4</span>. The file name appears where shown in the shaded bar.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="color:#ff0000;">5</span>. Click on Add to Post.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="color:#ff0000;">6.</span> The image file name appears in the post.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="color:#ff0000;">7.</span> Click on Add Reply and I'm good to go. The actual image appears in the final post.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Attached File  Picture 4.png   93.28K   4 downloads</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>This is the way it's posted. The image file name has been turned into a thumbnail, which can be enlarged by clicking on it.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Attached File  Picture 3.png   76.31K   3 downloads</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>One odd thing about this particular post....when I open the attached images and they pop up actual size, I'm not getting the Close X button at the bottom right. I have to click outside the image to close it. Go figure.</p>

Okay, what happened to my last post? Where did all the code come from? Everything was fine, then I simply made an edit and you can see what happened. I'll re-post later. [Trust me, it's worth reading.]

Sorry about this string of posts, but one odd thing occurs with the images I just posted -- when the full image pops up, the Close X appears briefly at the right bottom of the image and disappears. I have to click outside the image to close it.

PS: It may be helpful to open the diagram image in the post above and drag it to your desktop. Then you can view it in a separate window while referring to the numbered steps.

[Meanwhile, when editing this post, I can't get it to save changes]
