Hi all, I didnt participate in this years running of the Cannonball and I'm voting for the muscle car '62-74 era theme. Keeping in mind that Mustangs and Camaros were considered pony cars, not muscle cars.
Don't mean to start any controversey, But that's just my opinion and everyone has theirs.
Holiday cheers to all!!

A good reason NOT to go for muscle cars - the never ending "discussion" about what exactly is a muscle car.
Go for '62 to '74. sure, but don't try and say muscle cars only. We'd spend more time arguing on here than building.
However, if we went for this i'd be tempted to build one of these...

Problem with a Japanese run would be that of either finding a full detail kit or adding the detail to a kerbside. That could put entrants off.
Mind you, this would count as Japanese wouldn't it?

And unlimited doesn't mean anything goes. There are still rules.
Well, a rule - It has to look roadworthy.
In addition you have to think about practicalities like will it go round corners? will it run at sustained high revs for the whole run? will it be able to carry enough fuel to get to the next servo? can I build in a full internet/comms/navigation setup for the co-driver?
So it's not just another build.
I'm surprised no-one has yet put street tyres onto a NASCAR and added a second seat.
Also, AFAICR no truck has ever made it to the start line (some were being built last year but despite some truly heroic trash talk they failed to show) - am I the only one who can envisage a lowered, streamlined prime mover with the 5th wheel area faired over?
Or, fenders, lights and mufflers on an F1 car?
