I just wanted to acknowledge the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbour 71 years ago this morning. Thank you to all who served and are serving and let us never forget the price of freedom. God bless America and her allies and give us the wisdom to preserve our freedoms that so much blood was spilled to give us.

Well said Gary and I hope that you members will fly the flag today as a remberance. I was lucky enough to visit Pearl Harbor a couple of years ago and it was a moving experience.

I put out my flag first thing this morning, I never forget. Spent part of this afternoon watching WWII in color on the history channel.

At school today, not one mention was made of it.
With no offense to the younger members here intended, as most of you boys (and perhaps a girl or two who stays in the shadows,) are, from my experiences in interacting with you, much more engaged and willing and able to learn about things, the kids in the classes I covered today couldn't care a whit about anything other than themselves.
They have NO understanding or concern for their history, how we got to where we are or those presently serving.
I wish I could figure out how to teach them an indellible lesson so that they will understand.

Every day, I find myself (born at the climax of WW-II, in the summer of 1944!) remembering the sacrifice of the the millions of men and women who did what they had to do, to make this world a safe place for a little kid like me to grow up! Thanks to all our veterans, and my prayers of thanks and support go up daily to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice!

Fallen Hero in my eyes.
My Dad, may he RIP. After the war he became a policeman in Fargo for 33 years. Thats him with a very young Mercman.
